First ever Pakistani Textile delegation visits Denmark
For the first time ever, a top tier textile delegation representing the seven leading textile companies of Pakistan has just concluded their visit to Denmark.
The visit, which has been arranged by the Trade Council of the Embassy in collaboration with the Danish Fashion and Textile Association was arranged to explore business opportunities and partnerships with Danish companies and entrepreneurs.
The Embassy's Commercial Counsellor, Assar Qureshi led the delegation and has during the visit highlighted that Pakistan is a fast growing economy and predicted to have growth rates well above 5 percent until 2020. He also stated that Pakistan's access to GSP Plus status has substantially increased the scope for EU textile companies to import high quality products at competitive price, while Pakistani exporters have been granted duty free access to EU. He said that both Denmark and Pakistani companies can avail maximum benefits from these opportunities and that this visit was a first round to arrange more delegation visits - also from Denmark.
The Danish companies which the delegation met with include Bestseller, JYSK, JBS, Mascot,Danish Fashion Institute, Danish Fashion & Textile Association and the Danish Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU).
Pakistani companies which are part of the delegation include Gul Ahmed, Sapphire Textile Mills, Master Textile, Soortey Enterprises Pvt Ltd, Towellers Limited, Image Garments Pvt. Ltd. and VI Sigma.
